Max Hudson, also known as Rebis, is a multimedia visual artist and sound artist living in Alabama. He portrays alternative narratives through studio art involving installation, fiber, collage and computer arts, as well as sequential arts, animation and illustrative work.
He first developed an interest in cultural exchange through his long term partnership, leading him to explore the deep historical ties that can be drawn between Russian and Alabamian culture, nature, geography, language and art, as well as the comparable expirience of living as a transgender person within these cultures. He is now exploring more broadly the mixed culture of Alabama and it's connection to the wider world, the post-transitioned body and identity, and global connections humans can make through nature.
He also focuses on sound art, the art of DJing and techno production utilizing deep sampling, and techno's technical and conceptual tendancy to tie together global musical sensebilities as a pancultural genre.
